visit to the Poas Volcano, less than 1 hour
drive away from Costa Rica Bed and Breakfast, is unforgettable.
Poas has been an active volcano since 1828 and last errupted
in May 1989.
The volcano continues
to be active to varying extents, and the crater is a bubbling
and steaming cauldron.

famous craft markets of Sarchi are only a 20

see typical Costa Rican wood crafts being made and purchase

The Carretas,
a gaily painted wooden cart drawn by oxen (pictured here), is
a traditional Costa Rican craft. They are a souvenir peculiar
to Costa Rica and can be purchased in miniature versions.

The Macaw
farm, 'Flor de Mayo', only a 30 minute drive

Bed and Breakfast, is a wonder to behold. View
hundreds of exotic, colorful Macaws and other tropical birds
on this 20 acre internationally recognized bird sanctuary.
The sanctuary is
the main center in Costa Rica for the preservation of Macaws.
Here a variety of Macaws are raised and then released into the
jungles of Costa Rica.
